Short-term Rehabilitation
As hospital stays grow shorter, rehabilitation facilities are becoming an integral part of a person’s spectrum of care needs. Copiah Living Center works closely with many local healthcare facilities, such as Hardy Wilson Memorial Hospital, Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, Copiah County Medical Center, Central Mississippi Medical Center, University of Mississippi Medical Center, and St. Dominic Hospital to make the transition from hospital to rehabilitation as seamless as possible.
For those who have had orthopedic surgery or a medical event such as a heart attack or stroke, rehabilitative therapies can help improve your ability to function, ease pain, and create the foundation for better health. Our goal is to get you to a place where you are able to return home as quickly and as confidently as possible.
The rehabilitation modalities we offer are as follows:
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy uses body manipulation and physical movements to help ease pain and increase mobility, strength, endurance, balance, and range of motion. We develop individual therapy plans that respect each patient’s unique challenges.
Occupational Therapy
The focus of occupational therapy is to help patients with the activities of daily living, such as dressing, bathing, grooming, cooking, and eating. The goal is to help patients regain independence so they can return home.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy is used to help people improve their verbal communications skills, teach them new ways of communicating and help with difficulties in swallowing. The ultimate goal is to help patients communicate more effectively and ensure they are able to eat and drink safely.
